I'll probably start updating more regularly, and maybe even commenting, or remembering to reply to comments, now that a lot of active effort is being put into making my life not a trash fire.

So I had that terrifying job interview and the next afternoon while writing a thank-you note to the interviewer my phone rang and it was the head of HR (the entirety of HR? small place) offering me the position.

Yeah, that happened. After 26 applications with no response over 3 months, application #27 got me an interview 3 days after submitting and hired a day later.

Also related to the above linked post: currently posting from my last day seeing patients ever! No, I probably won't miss it. I will miss medicine and delivering quality care but I'm okay regulating quality care instead because my disability makes dealing with all this moving around and all these strangers incredibly difficult, so I'm. Good. With being done with that stuff. Also related: I still haven't gotten my thesis review back ha ha ha. I've been informed by the school that if I don't have the time to incorporate all comments it's not going to count against me.

I need to actually make some more DW friends and stuff. Considering how much time I spend on my reading page (not commenting because I suck) and it being relatively quiet, but it's also not like I can remember to reply to anything so!

Also, since I apparently have books-plural coming out, I suppose I should either make a fiction writing filter or a second account to dump all that crap in. This journal has not featured creative content in so long I'm not sure it belongs here.

You are probably right. As individuals, they are great people. As a functional unit they seem very dedicated to not functioning.

Congratulations on your job! It's so important for us to have good, caring people in the regulation of care. Those of us who are going to stay elbow deep in patient care can't do that part, but it's no less important. I'm so happy for you!
