the way shorter mobile version of the post I wanted to make
Jaw surgery part three time today! I recommend never getting osteomyelitis. It was nearly four years ago. I am still fixing things in my face.
Sorry to the people I promised RP responses to last night who I fell asleep on instead - there are a number of you - I'm going to get there via tablet before they knock me out, it's a three hour drive to get to my specialist.
(Sadly none of this is going to make my face LOOK right again, just hurt less. Looking right is going to require a chin augment at the very least and possibly buccal fat pad removals, and insurance doesn't cover that any more than they do replacing the missing teeth*, because insurance considers TEETH and RECOGNIZING YOURSELF IN THE MIRROR to be cosmetic.
* I have no lower molars on my left, and I may wake up with no upper ones either, don't know yet.)

It looks like a relatively normal face, no external disfigurement, but it doesn't look like MY face and that is, oddly enough, very distressing.

Clearly teeth aren't part of your body! Who could possibly expect insurers to care? (*snarls at the industry*)
I hope the procedure goes well and does worlds of good for pain relief. *hugs*

Insurance f**king sucks. Healthcare in general does. Wishing all good things for you.

Dental insurance is so bullshit. Sometimes I wonder if they really cover anything beyond cleanings.
