Update I am forcing myself to make
Mar. 6th, 2019 02:12 pmIt took way too many hours and way too many airports to get back home. I've never been gladder to see LaGuardia (though it is my preferred airport, at this point I would have even taken Stewart if I had to), and flying from Philadelphia to New York seemed very wasteful since this is not a choice I would have made for myself, but. I made it here.
Spotless by Camilla Monk and its sequel are what made this experience livable. I cannot explain this book well because of brain chemistry issues, but I thought it was absolutely incredible. Just read the blurb. It is not actually A Romance Novel even if it is an homage to them in a loving jokey way, it's romantic suspense + spy comedy. I'm including this note for the romance writers/readers among me: if you expect HEA/HFN, adjust your expectations (for now; the series seems to aim at HEA). There being no PIV sex is a plot point, too.
The weird extended travel sequence totally screwed up my brain meds, and if I were not an employee here I would have admitted myself to sort out my levels. Because I would be admitting myself, I would never be able to get myself back out again, and I can't lose more time either, so I have to coast it and use most of my outpatient care tips on myself.
My work keyboard is dropping letters everywhere but I just cleaned it AND replaced the batteries.
We are confirmed for NatCon in two weeks, and I'm really excited to be traveling with Andan Lawrence and participating in panels such as "The Art and Science of Data-driven Treatment Planning," "Beyond Trauma-informed Care: The Critical Role of Resilience," "Managing the Mayhem: Project Management and Quality Improvement Strategies for Successful Implementation of CCBHCs," "Improving Lives Through Behavioral Health/Health System Partnerships," " Behavioral Health Care IS Health Care: Integration Through Acquisition," "Medication-Assisted Treatment and Drug Trends for 2019" and "When They Need Us Most: Engaging Patients During Level of Care Transitions." I would be extremely excited if I were not extremely tired.
